Sunday morning, we had plenty of time to be lazy and watch the Olympics (YEAH!) before sacrament meeting. Our family loaded up early because Faith was at Sondra's and I needed to do her hair. Hung out at Sondra's for awhile, and ate lunch there too.
Right when we were getting ready to leave, somehow the keys got locked into the car Richard and Rhonda were driving. So here we were, ready to leave, and they couldn't get in. Oh, and did I mention the car was running??? Ugh! It was an awful 10 minutes, but Richard got in! Hurray!
Rushing in the car, get to the church, and see that 1 bench will not be enough room for everyone, so our little family sat alone. Kind of sad. The program happened to be a missionary who was leaving, a quartet of young men, and Shawn Stadlbauer, my cousin, who was returning from his mission.
The guy that was leaving did a fantastic job! He seems so ready to go out and serve the Lord. I have no doubt that he will make a fantastic missionary. I'm sure his family is proud. The quartet sang "I'll Go Where You Want Me To Go" acapella, which has taken on new meaning in my life. The Sunday Ang Warth and her family left to move to Kansas, we sang that song in sacrament (or I should say almost everyone sang while I cried). It is very moving to me. And finally, Shawn shared a couple of stories and related them to gospel principles. It was a very nice program!!!
We hurried quickly to get on the road and back home. When I looked at the clock, it was 2:32. A whole 24 1/2 hours in Boise!!! WOW! That was such a quick trip. We were grateful that we were able to go up and be closer with family, some of which we don't usually see or talk to much.
Thank you Boise for a fun, but rushed time! You know we'll be back!!!

BAMBOOZLED IN BOISE - PART 2
During Faith and Tymber's talk of teenage woes, they had decided that Faith would have to sleepover with Tymber at Aunt Sondra's along with playing a round of miniature golf. Aunt Sondra is just the coolest Aunt and are cousins are awesome too, so we agreed. But we had to rush back to Nampa to grab her stuff.
Well, once we got to Sondra's house, we were "BAMBOOZLED" into going miniature golfing. Kate was playing with cousins in Nampa. So we tried to hurry while having fun. We also had to go in 3 separate groups. The teenagers got a couple of groups ahead.

Big D - he almost got a hole in one. When it didn't go in, he looked like he was going to break the club over his knee. I guess it comes natural in this sport. Hilarious!
It was a very fun night. The last hole either shoots out water on you for a miss or fire out the top for a hole in one. Very clever and so much fun! Thank you cool family for being such good sports and letting me take pictures from my phone!

24 1/2 HOURS - BOISE AGAIN PART 1
We went to Boise for the 2nd time this summer to be with the Stadlbauer family. Kevin is getting married the last weekend of August and Shawn recently returned from his mission (Mesa, AZ Spanish speaking).
We were trying to go down Friday night, but it didn't happen. It was such a rush to get out the door. You know the times when you think you have everything and then remember 5 more things. Plus, we had a neighbor come over and visit for awhile. After throwing everyone in the car, we headed out and arrived in Nampa at my sister Robyn's house around 2:00 pm
At 4:00 pm, a potluck was held at Aunt Chris' house in Boise, before the reception that started at 7:00 pm. I forgot to take pictures, but Aunt Sondra took some that she is letting me share.
Before the posed pictures:

FAMILY FUN ACTIVITY 2012
This year for our youth service club family fun activity, we all went to Brooklyn's playground! (P.S. If you still haven't been, you really need to try it out.)
We had pizza and a potluck; plus the kids were able to play like crazy on the playground. Then were able to give Stephanie Bearnson a check for the yard sale that we did in June. Modern Woodmen of America matched $500 of what we earned, so it was over a thousand, which was our goal.
I had a wonderful time visiting with my old roommate. And to see her kids was fun too!

TAKE THE BAIT
Brandon had been talking about taking the kids fishing for awhile and so
he made good on his promise. They went out to American Falls reservoir
for a couple of hours to do just that! I was actually excited that
they just did their own thing while I was working. Special daddy
time!!!
Kate
Dawson
Faith
All 3- I love that this picture is from youngest to oldest, even if he didn't plan it this way!
They only caught one fish as shown here. The kids were really disappointed because Brandon was the one that was able to catch it too!
Brandon also insisted that Dawson learned how to clean the fish.
But once it got time for going, he looked a tad bit nervous...
Hopefully this was not a one time excursion and they can do it again!!!

COMPANY PICNIC
This summer, Brandon's company had a picnic for the southeast Idaho people (everyone is in Idaho Falls except us.) It was held at Heise by Ririe, Idaho (about an hour and 15 minutes from us I think.)
The one disappointment was that it was held the same day as the Pioneer Day Parade. We were sad not to see Grandpa Kelly that day (this was probably the last year he will be in the parade) and sit with the Pincocks.
On the way up, we double checked to make sure everyone had their seatbelts buckle. When we looked back, we saw this most adorable picture of Dawson:
A little blurry 'cause we are driving, but hilarious! He thought he'd better buckle the cooler next to him just in case.
On a side note, there were the best chocolate chip cookies there. Yes, folks! After about 3 years of searching, I think that I have finally found it. Now, just to convince them to share the recipe. And when I do, it will be posted here!

WAY BACK WEDNESDAY - SMILE POCATELLO
December 10, 1987, Pocatello was declared the smile capital of the United States.
This was an assignment when I was in the 4th grade. I did a poster of music lines with happy notes that were singing "Don't Worry ~ Be Happy!" This picture was taken at the mall in Chubbuck.
I am listed as "Michelle Jensen" which is what I went by at that time. Nostalgic, I know!
