THIS IS YOUR BIRTHDAY SONG

This is your birthday song.  It isn't very long.  Hey!

The cake that Brandon made for my Mom.  Kind of hard to see in the pictures, but it is quilted in diagonal squares.

White cake with white chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries

Most of the grandkids and Grandma all with crazy eyes

Surprise visit from Connor in his uniform!

Faith and I

Awesome surprises for my birthday.  I was lucky enough to have several friends remember my day too!  It was awesome because that week a classmate passed away unexpectedly.  I wasn't feeling old until that happened.  Thank you to my wonderful husband, kids, family, and friends for making this day special.

35 years later.  Thank you Mom for sharing your day with me!  It probably hasn't been very cool, but I like to think that it has made us closer.  Who else can say that they were born on their mom's birthday (especially when I made an appearance late!)?  Love you Mom!  Happy birthday

Brit had a bridal shower the same weekend as Time our for Women. But Faith and Kathy were able to go and visit.  Her shower was a time theme.

TOFW BLESSINGS

This year, I was hoping to give myself a little bit of time. So for my birthday, Brandon and the kids got me tickets for Time Out for Women. And Tracy and I bought Mom tickets for Time Out for Women.

We also drove with Amber, Kendra, and LaRae.

I was blown away about how great this time was.  I had never had the opportunity to go before and just totally enjoyed myself and all the speakers.  Each of them said something profound.  It was just what I needed!  My favorite speaker was Kris Belcher.  She was incredible and I couldn't help but tear up a bit.  What a blessing to live close enough to go and participate in such a neat experience.

ST PATTYS

We had a very fun St. Patrick's Day this year!  We were able to have the missionaries over for dinner.  We decided on breakfast for dinner - here is a little bit of the leftovers.  Hashbrowns, sausage, bacon, green eggs, pumpkin french toast (yummy!), and green milk.  The missionaries probably thought that we were crazy!

Afterwards, we also had St. Patrick's Day floats (rainbow sherbet and 7-Up).  I also gave them a pot of gold (Rolos wrapped in rainbow design).

I love to celebrate holidays!

AIMING FOR 2nd

I'm sure any Dad would tell you that you always want to win when it comes to a Pinewood Derby. But this Mom was hoping for anything but 1st! Really, 2nd place would be great.

Here he is before the race with his Pit Pass (made by Sister Beebee)!

We also were lucky enough to have a popcorn stand and cookies.  Here is Sady and Shelby.  Such cute girls!!!

Sister Poppleton is his Bear Den Leader!

Grandma was NOT excited about a picture, but said yes if she could be in with Faith!!!

Of course, Kate couldn't help but ask when she gets to race her car!!!

And the end result was that Dawson came in 3rd.  We were excited none the less and were happy that he was able to participate!  (Kate REALLY wants to be in any picture that I take!)

Here is his certificate.  GO Big D!!!

Dad and Kate

Here is Sam (on the end), Kade (1st), Teagan (2nd), and Dawson (3rd)

Way to go Bears!!!

SCRIPTURE CAKE

Brandon wanted to surprise our friend Dusty with a cake for his birthday.  He is super spiritual.  We always joke about it, but also use him as a reference because he seems to know everything when it comes to church questions.

A couple weeks before his birthday, his wife mentioned that Dusty was reading the Old Testament and had stayed up in the middle of the night because he was so fascinated by it.  We laughed (ha, ha) because that is SO Dusty.  Fast forward a couple weeks, and that was Brandon's inspiration for his birthday cake.

Middle was a peanut butter buttercream with Reece's peanut butter cups...

Topped with Nutella.  When he put the top on, it was not flat.  SO, me being the helpful wife, pushed it down.  Oops!!!

One slice.

What is looked like!

It turned out fantastic.  Brandon is not liking fondant, but he is continuing to practice so that he can get better.  This is officially cake #4.  Not bad!!!

Happy birthday Dusty!!!
