FINISHED #6

I'm pleased to let you all know that our baby, Miss Kate, will now have a stocking for Christmas. She is only 7 1/2... don't laugh!!!

She is so excited to have her completed stocking!

 A closer up picture

The crazy penguin... His eyes are a bit kooky!

I have to say that I am just as excited as Kate is. It's taken me a couple of movies (okay... a lot of movies) with the family to get this project finished. It had a total of 138 pieces that had to be cut and attached... Quite a lot of work and definitely the hardest stocking out of the 5 to do. Whew!

FIRST DAY OF AZKABAN 2014-2015

Yes, my kids actually call school Azkaban!

Our tradition is always pancakes for the first day of school. This year, I thought that I would make it easier and just do yellow for both the Panthers and the Hawks. You can't really tell, but yes, it is dyed yellow.

Then I made the first letter of their name and put the number of small pancakes to represent which grade they are in.
Kate's in 2nd

Dawson's in 5th

Faith's in 8th

This one is getting so big!

Dawson is now in 5th grade!

Annual Yahoo/BooHoo Breakfast at Geraldine's!
Here is my breakfast and my picture!

I really enjoy this tradition and being able to visit with friends and neighbors each year. I think that all of us (except Amber G.) were SO happy that school started. I am looking forward to a routine... and I think that my kids love to play with friends during the day.

Adeline, Ann, Josi, Rachel, Amber, Kendra

Mary Kae, Amber, Jess, Klive, Marin, and Amy

The girls playing and having a great first day of school - LOL!

And the other tradition on the first and last day of school is to make cookies. Per Dawson's request, we did cake mix cookies and all of the kids loved them! They said they were the best cookies I've ever made (laughing really hard right about now!) I think I'll stop trying to impress them and just make the quickest cookies that we can! Here is what was left over from 2 batches. (The kids are finally getting the hang of it and coming to get their cookie!)

Here's to a great year of learning, fun with friends, and more traditions like this!!!

MEET THE TEACHERS

We were able to meet Kate and Dawson's new teachers for the the school year 2014-2015.

Kate and Mrs. Page

And I wanted a quick selfie with her myself!!! Oh, I love this teacher as we served together in the stake primary presidency.

We stole about 30 seconds to say hi to Kate's first grade teacher, Miss Winder! Kate is really going to miss her, but we are in good hands with Mrs. Page for sure!

Finally, Dawson and Ms. Fortner! I am excited to try this 'new to Chubbuck' teacher.

We can't wait for school to get underway!!! Hooray for structure, routine, and learning more!

HASHTAG STAYCATION

Our whole summer this year has been all about the puppy. But we still wanted to get away for just a day. A staycation, which was decided to be Lava Hot Springs this year. We arranged to have my sister pick up Echo from the groomers and we headed out on a cloudy-ish day. It couldn't have been more perfect. Lower 80s, upper 70s. Mostly cloudy. And all of my kids and husband around me!

During our swim and riding the waterslides, Dawson began saying a ton of things starting with a hashtag. I couldn't help but laugh. Here are a few that we heard (#alot)!!!

We stayed for about 4 hours, but we still had sad faces when we left. Echo's day was also quite eventful. She pooped in Tracy's car (on top of Jordan's preschool papers he had to hand in that night.) Then, she decided while Tracy was reprinting the papers that she would have a spa day in her backyard by taking a mud bath. Maddy just watched her. And so Tracy took the rest of the day off of work to bathe Echo for the 2nd time. I'm afraid I have quite a bit of making up to do for her!!!
