APRIL IN REVIEW

April in review for the Jolleys ---

Dawson had an appointment to get a 2nd opinion about all of the cavities that he had. Unfortunately, this dentist agreed that we needed to get it fixed. We went back 4 weeks later to start fixing the cavities. That appointment we did 4 cavities - yikes!

Kate also went to the dentist and got a recheck on a 'cavity.' She always does so good for having such a traumatic medical history.

I also went to the dentist and did a check up and filled a cavity as well. It was not a good dental month at our house.

One of our favorite things that we do twice a year is our general conference traditions. This year we did the traditional general conference packets, snack bags, and holiday food. But this time we decided to do a conference wall with different topics. When someone spoke, we had to find their picture (from last conference pictures), cut them out, and attach them to topic. We left it up for months and enjoyed looking back on what the apostles and church leaders spoke about.

The things that stood out to me were how much they talked about the responsibility that parents have to raise their children in the gospel and that we can do more. My favorite talks were: The Rock of Our Redeemer (Wilford W. Andersen), "You are My Hands" (President Dieter F. Uchtdorf), and Mother Told Me (Bradley D. Foster). All of them, as usual, were fantastic.

Saturday, we had a 'Thanksgiving dinner' with friends followed by an Easter egg hunt for the kids. It was a very chilly day, so we were able to do it inside our house. I think that the kids really enjoyed it.

Here are several pictures of the egg hunt:

Reaping the rewards!

On Sunday, we kept things casual. I copied coloring pages from the friend to make the kids church coloring books. That was in their Easter baskets, as well as a few other church items and candy. (I try to keep things more on a spiritual level for Sunday.) It was a good, relaxing type of day.

Faith had a bit of problem with her tonsils swelling up to touching. I have to admit that as a mom, that is one thing you don't want to have to worry about. I didn't want her airway to become clogged, so we made a trip to the children's clinic. They told me there was nothing to worry about. Hopefully you can see the pics okay.

Service club included making decorated pots with flowers and giving them to elderly at Cottonwood Cove, a nearby retirement facility. Faith met a lady that was amazing. She had puzzles that were right next to her door that were painted with glue so they would stick together. Faith had so much fun talking to her. I think that Faith is hoping that they will go back and visit. Dawson and Kate weren't as much into this activity, but I really think that it is important to remember the lonely and the elderly. They sure appreciate all of the kids visiting them. This is a picture of the pots that the kids colored and gave away.

That night after service club, we had a ward talent show. It was well attended and we were excited to see the talents. Anya, the ward activity leader and family friend, put together an awesome program and decided to through in 'minute to win it' activities. Unfortunately, we discovered that Dawson was covered in a rash that night. We thought it was a weird rash that resorted into another doctor's visit. It was missed diagnosed and was really 5th disease, which you are only supposed to have once. Last July, Dawson got 5th disease and spread it to everyone but me. This time, he spread it to everyone except Kate. I have to say that it is very painful and awful. Because it is viral, everyone can get it though adults should already have had it. So much for that theory.

Kati, Tina, and I had a tingle party at work. Basically, it is like red hots for your body. Tingle lotions bring oxygen to the surface of your skin to get the best looking results. It is somewhat painful, but I will do it again to get good results.

Jadyn celebrated her 4th birthday. I was working, but my kids went to help her celebrate in her fun.

Brandon had training in Burley. It's when your help is gone that you realize how much they do. Brandon always helps with homework and all of the little things like teaching the kids how to ride their bikes or tying their shoes. He does dishes, cooks, and helps with laundry. There is no better husband and father!

Brandon also started laser hair removal in April, which was very painful, but in the end is going pay off. He is doing his neck, front and back.

This pretty much sums up April. Enjoy reading quick posts about our month.
